Compounded medications

Certain medications available through Alivia Healthcare are compounded medications. Compounded medications are prepared by state-licensed U.S. compounding pharmacies based on a patient-specific prescription from a licensed healthcare provider.

Compounded medications are not FDA-approved. The FDA does not verify the safety, effectiveness, or quality of compounded drugs before they are marketed. Compounded medications are not the same as FDA-approved generic drugs.

Compounded medications may differ from commercially available or FDA-approved drugs in terms of efficacy, safety, risk, and side-effect profiles. Data from clinical trials conducted on FDA-approved medications should not be used to set expectations for compounded formulations.

Important safety information — GLP-1 medications

WARNING: THYROID C-CELL TUMORS

GLP-1 receptor agonist medications have been associated with thyroid C-cell tumors in animal studies. It is not known whether these medications cause thyroid C-cell tumors, including medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC), in humans. Do not use GLP-1 medications if you or your family have a history of MTC or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2). Tell your healthcare provider if you develop a lump or swelling in your neck, hoarseness, trouble swallowing, or shortness of breath.

Serious side effects may include:

Pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas)
Gallbladder problems, including gallstones
Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia)
Kidney problems, including kidney failure
Serious allergic reactions
Changes in vision (in patients with type 2 diabetes)
Increased heart rate

Common side effects may include nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, stomach pain, headache, fatigue, indigestion, dizziness, and bloating.

This is not a complete list of possible side effects. Your healthcare provider can advise you about side effects related to your specific treatment. If you experience any serious side effects, contact your healthcare provider or seek emergency medical attention immediately.

Results disclaimer

Individual results may vary. Weight loss and treatment outcomes depend on numerous factors including adherence to the prescribed treatment plan, diet, physical activity, individual metabolic response, and pre-existing health conditions. No specific results are guaranteed.

Medical care & telehealth services

All prescription medications available through Alivia Healthcare are provided only after a licensed healthcare provider has conducted an appropriate telehealth consultation and determined that treatment is medically necessary. A prescription is not guaranteed for every patient.

Clinical services are provided by licensed healthcare providers employed by Beluga Health Inc. Alivia Healthcare does not provide medical care directly. All clinical decisions, including whether to prescribe medication, are made at the sole discretion of the treating provider.

Billing and refunds

Fees for clinical review are non-refundable once a clinician has reviewed your request. If you are not approved for treatment, medication-related charges are refunded. Once a prescription is approved and medication is dispensed or shipped, refunds are not available.
